Workshop Kintsugi

V rámci doprovodného programu k výstavě The Ceramic Heart vás zveme na jedinečný workshop japonské metody kintsugi, který se uskuteční v autentickém prostředí ateliéru Veroniky Le – právě tam, kde vznikala hmotná keramická srdce, která jste mohli vidět na výstavě. Workshopem vás provede Veronika Le, produktová designérka, keramička a spoluautorka výstavy The Ceramic Heart.
Kintsugi je tradiční japonská technika opravy rozbité keramiky, při níž se praskliny zvýrazňují a stávají se součástí příběhu objektu. Nejde o skrývání nedokonalostí – ale o jejich přijetí a proměnu v hodnotu.
Během workshopu:
nahlédnete do zákulisí procesu vzniku keramických srdcí - dozvíte se, jak metoda kintsugi funguje a jaký je její filozofický přesah.
dostanete vlastní keramický objekt, který si sami symbolicky rozbijete a následně opravíte technikou kintsugi (můžete si přinést i vlastní rozbité věci z domova).
domů si tak neodnesete jen opravený keramický artefakt, ale i osobní zkušenost s procesem, který je metaforou celé výstavy – křehkost, zlomení a znovuzrození.
Workshop nabízí intimní a autentický zážitek v prostoru, kde se rodily samotné exponáty. Je určen všem, kteří chtějí jít hlouběji – nejen do materiálu, ale i do tématu, které The Ceramic Heart otevírá.
Workshop potrvá cca 2 hodiny.
As part of the accompanying program for The Ceramic Heart exhibition, we invite you to a workshop on the Japanese method of kintsugi, taking place in the setting of Veronika Le’s studio—right where the ceramic hearts you may have seen in the exhibition were created.
The workshop will be led by Veronika Le, a product designer, ceramic artist, and co-author of The Ceramic Heart exhibition.
Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese technique for repairing broken ceramics, where cracks are highlighted and become part of the object’s story. It is not about hiding imperfections, but about embracing them and transforming them into value.
During the workshop:
You will get a behind-the-scenes look at the process of creating the ceramic hearts
You will learn how the kintsugi method works and explore its philosophical depth
You will receive your own ceramic object, which you will symbolically break and then repair using the kintsugi technique (you may also bring your own broken items from home)
You will take home not only a repaired ceramic artifact, but also a personal experience of a process that serves as a metaphor for the entire exhibition—fragility, breaking, and rebirth
The workshop offers an intimate and authentic experience in the very space where the exhibited works were created. It is intended for anyone who wishes to explore more deeply—not only the material itself, but also the themes presented in The Ceramic Heart.
